It was a beautiful day for our session. Despite the gorgeous Fall weather, I was a bit nervous before meeting this family for the first time. Up to this point, all my sessions had been with clients who are also friends.
I shouldn’t have worried one bit. I was fortunate enough to instantly click with this beautiful family.
Mom had the most adorable Fall outfits for them to model for me.
Our location was a small historic downtown area that was full of old beauty.
Even though the little one was recovering from a cold, her beautiful personality still shone through.
I loved seeing the beautiful relationship between the sisters.
I found this following quote and thought it applied:
Sisters are different flowers from the same garden. ~Author Unknown
I know these two will be close as they get older and their relationship grows even more.
I feel so honored that this family choose me to capture their beautiful flowers 🙂
I heard those words first when I was pregnant with my son. “Little boys love their momma like no other”.
I didn’t quite understand that theory at the time. As my son grew into an infant and a toddler, then I understood.
I think Nicki already knows this.
Not to say that a daughter’s love isn’t as special, by any means. It sure is. But it’s different.
There is nothing greater than a mother’s love for her children.
This shoot was one of my favorites all Fall 🙂 Thanks for sharing your family with me, Nicki.
Yep… that pretty much describes these two cute young ‘ens.
My friend Jeanne’s children are amazing to watch together. Although they do fight sometimes, their true relationships shines through again and again. They are both so smart and sweet.
It may have a little bit to do with these rays of sunshine, too.
Jeanne is such a devoted mom. She goes above and beyond for her kids every day. She has been such a role model to me with my own children.
And no matter how old this one gets, I bet she’ll always bring a smile to this daddy’s face.
Jeanne and family, thank you so much for trusting me with the first family photos you’ve had taken in a long time. I hope it was enjoyable enough to not wait 5 more years for another one!
Come, my love, and be with me,
Little Liza Jane,
Let me take good care of thee,
Little Liza Jane.
“Little Liza Jane”
This little snuggle bug entered the world on 11-9-10, a few weeks early from her expected due date. Liza Jane was a sleepy newborn (except at night) and we had no reason to think she wouldn’t sleep right through her entire 13 day old shoot.
Nope. Not a bit. Not a wink. We tried for over 2 hours. We had the room very warm, the blankets very cosy. She slept on the way home just fine 🙂
Did I mention how much I love photographing birthday parties?
Especially ones fit for a Pink Princess.
And she is a princess, but don’t get me wrong.
This princess is sweet, kind, loving, patient, and humble.
Did I forget to mention beautiful?
Its her fun personality that really makes her shine.
Princess Ava, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your special birthday. It has been amazing watching you grow up into a poised little girl.
and I secretly can’t wait to see what your mother has in store for your next birthday!

It started with one post on Facebook.
“Will you take my family’s picture for our Christmas cards this year?”
Eight more people chimed in. “Oooh, can you do mine?”
And the business I’ve been hemming and hawing over for the past year about starting was born.
With at least 2 shoots (and sometimes even 4) each week, I did not have time to keep this blog up. That soon will be rectified. Each session will have their very own blog post. Starting soon!
I have a lot of exciting things coming this year! My plan is to apply immediately for my business license and get a tax ID number to make this all legit.
I’ll be coming out with a brand new website once my logo is finished being designed. This blog will stay here at WordPress, but more than likely will get a makeover.
Its going to be a good year 🙂
I love birthdays 🙂
The the details…
And especially birthday girls!
I was so honored to be asked to photograph this sweet girl’s 10th birthday! Why? Because her mom is one of the photographers that taught me everything I know!
And you know what? I think her daughter will be following in her footsteps 🙂
Since the birthday party was held at a local wild life preserve, there were many great subjects to focus on!
But my favorite subject?
This girl right here.
Happy 10th Birthday E! May your year be filled with memories waiting to be captured.

A Little Girl’s Prayer
by Katherine Mansfield
Grant me the moment, the lovely moment
That I may lean forth to see
The other buds, the other blooms,
The other leaves on the tree:
That I may take into my bosom
The breeze that is like his brother,
But stiller, lighter, whose faint laughter
Exhoes the joy of the other.
Above on the blue and white cloud-spaces
There are small clouds at play.
I watch their remote, mysterious play-time
In the other far-away.
Grant I may hear the small birds singing
the song that the silence knows…
(The Light and the Shadow whisper together,
The lovely moment grows,
Ripples into the air like water
Away and away without sound,
And the little girl gets up from her praying
On the cold ground)
My dear ladies, it was such a pleasure capturing your sweet smiles this past weekend. May you always be your momma’s little girls forever.
You start out with a gorgeous mom…
and give her two charismatic boys…
add another beautiful teen girl…
A wonderfully fun husband….
And absolutely adorable 4 month old baby…
you get a perfect family 🙂
Tammy and Dan, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your family in this exact moment. May your Fall be filled with fun and family 🙂
My favorite model Cassie looks great in just about anything.
But she’s especially pretty in pink.
And not too shabby in black and white either 🙂
Cassie, sometimes I think your mom buys outfits for you with photo shoots in mind 🙂
