“A graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that ‘individuality’ is the key to success.”
-Robert Orben
I think this High School Senior has enough personality and individuality to share with the whole school.
When my good friend Danielle found out she was expecting a baby boy, our family was thrilled! Why? Well, Danielle’s husband just happens to be MY husband’s best friend. Their family is our family. Danielle was due roughly 4 weeks after my due date with unknown gender baby #3.
Danielle and I even planned to use the same doula to attend our births. Four weeks is a large gap and there was no way that we were having babies on the same day.
Funny thing about those babies though…. they tend to come when they want to 🙂
On January 24th, Danielle found out that due to blood pressure and pre-eclampsia concerns, she must be induced the next day with her baby boy. Logan was welcomed into this world, all 10 lbs and 11 ounces of him, on January 25th. As soon as my doula got home from attending her birth, my water broke. My baby was almost 2 weeks late by this point. Jocelyn arrived the next day on the 26th.
Only time will tell whether or not Logan and Jocelyn will be best friends or betrothed partners.
While Danielle’s parents were in town, she asked me to come to her home and capture Logan with his grandparents.
I can’t wait for our babies to grow up together 🙂
After the business of the Fall sessions and Christmas season, photographers look forward to the “down time” in January. Fortunately, I didn’t have much down time at all! There was a baby boom around town.
Immediately following Fall sessions came the request for Christmas card pictures. Clients were trying to book sessions a week before the big day! I think this year I might offer mini sessions for this!
Looking forward to another Christmas season in just a few short months!
Since so many photographers are also bloggers (and vice versa), I never imagined it would be so difficult to keep up with both a photography business and a photography blog. I have to admit that it became overwhelming this time last year when all my Fall sessions started taking place. Most of my clients would prefer to see their sneak peek on a social networking site like Facebook. I do my best to get those up within my quoted week time frame. But sadly, this blog has been neglected for way too long.
I know its too early for New Year Resolutions so let’s just call this a “Fall Resolution”, okay? Here is a sample of what I was up to last year in 2010.
Here’s hoping for some great weather and beautiful Fall color again this year!
It has been an immense pleasure watching these little girls grow from baby to toddler to preschooler to sitting on the cusp of tweeness.
When I met their mom, the oldest was not quite 2 years old, the middle was only 6 weeks old, and the youngest wasn’t even a thought yet.
I had no idea they would all be such avid Justin Bieber fans, or all love swimming in their pool, or all receive Terrific Kid awards from school.
And I had no idea how much they would love and depend on each other.
Let’s take this time together, to laugh, to cry, and remember
For we’ll always be close as sisters, whether were near or far apart
A sister is a sister, forever in my heart.

This family is incredibly special to me 🙂 You might recognize their youngest as Cassie, a featured model on this blog. Her mom is one of my best friends. Her son is one of my son’s best friends. Our lives truly became richer the day we met this family.
There’s my girl 🙂 Okay, well… she’s not technically my girl, but I wish she was.
Thankfully, her momma doesn’t mind sharing her.
This handsome young man has come a long way since we first met him when he was 3. Originally diagnosed with a Speech and Language processing disorder, he quickly wowed his teachers and therapists with his ability to learn and read despite any challenges.
His dad is especially proud of the little man he’s become in just two short years.
And let’s not forget this stunning beauty of tweenage-ness…
In true tween fashion, she was not at all excited about having her picture made that day. But she secretly admitted that she liked how they turned out 🙂
This family’s story is far from complete. They will welcome a brand new baby girl (potentially named Olivia) this May.
Congratulations to this beautiful family!
The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking of this couple’s relationship isn’t the obvious.
They definitely have love, there’s no doubt about that.
Yet, it goes much deeper than that. Past the surface of romantic love lies their connection of friendship.
Their compassion for others and the amount they care for each other shines through.
This woman is so special to our family.
We love all the wonderful qualities she possesses and are pretty sure that those are the same reasons her husband loves her, too.
There is definitely love.
Oh my…
Let’s just say that this adventurous two year old was anything but boring.
“Bubbly” would be an excellent adjective to use in her case.
I did manage, however, to catch her sitting a few times!
These kind of sessions are actually my favorite. Toddlers are challenging, but so rewarding.
This little bubbly one is sure to keep this personality as she grows!
